Many people are unsure of how to dose CBD. I usually recommend starting with a 1500mg bottle of CBD isolate, Full Spectrum (<0.3% THC), or Broad Spectrum at a 1/4 ml (dropperful) twice a day. Place the CBD tincture under the tongue and hold there for 30-60 seconds, then swish it around your mouth prior to swallowing. CBD oil absorbs well from under the tongue, from the back of the tongue and oral mucosa. You may titrate up in 1/4ml increments to up to 1ml twice a day. If you notice a desired effect, for example, at ½ ml twice a day then you do not need to continue to increase your dose. Some people will notice an almost immediate effect while others‘ may have a delayed response while the endocannabinoid system balances out.
The above instructions apply to the CBD/CBG oil 1000mg bottle as well.
Other ways to get in your CBD for the day:
Gummies (25mg a piece) -take 1 gummies a few times a day or as needed. Yum!!
Honey (either the 250 or 500mg jar) use 1 tsp as desired.
Coffee—brew a lovely cup and enjoy as desired.
Chocolate—one small square for a treat.
CBD may help balance your body to help with immune function, inflammation, mood, relaxation, bone health, focus, pain, etc. It is a process and your body may require more CBD for a period of time so you may continue your desired dose for several weeks and allow for balanced to occur. Once you are feeling well, you may try and slowly decrease to the dose. If symptoms return, increase back up again to where you had symptom resolution—this may not be at as high of a dose as you were on previously. One of the wonderful things about CBD is that once you start to balance you can back off of the dose, which means you should not “build up a tolerance” and have to keep increasing the dose. However, if you don’t notice an effect you may require a higher dose. Not everyone is on the same dose. I know people that take 2 mg and others that are on 200mg a day, so it is great that there are so many wonderful ways to introduce CBD into your daily regimen.
CBD does metabolize through the liver so if you are on medications or have liver issues you may need to clear it with your doctor before starting. If you are on blood thinners or having surgery please let your doctor know you are on CBD (or any supplements for that matter--since they may contribute to blood thinning. Not having “sticky blood” is a good thing but bleeding and usual bruising is not and can be a sign of a health issue).
Note: Take the evening dose a couple hours prior to bed since this can increase focus and some people may feel "more awake" initially. Once you know how it makes you feel you can take it a bedtime.
